Default Guy Fawkes

This is one portrait I love. Guy Fawkes, The only man to enter Parliment with honest intentions! I think it would be a great carving. Just thought I would share!

Remember, remember the Fifth of November, The Gunpowder Treason and Plot to surrender, I know of no reason Why the Gunpowder Treason Should ever be forgot.

WOW looks like a picture of my uncle from the 70's, rofl same haircut and everything. That would make a nice carving, thanks for sharing.

Ya, know that's very plausible to achieve. I may have to give him a try down the road.

Never been sure why we burn his effigy.

Is it because he failed?

Historically its a bit more complicated. No white hats versus black ones, the age old dilemma, religion.

WOW, what a project for some one to do, I sure wish I had the talent to try that one, it would be a master piece for sure. Thanks Keoma, maybe some one will pick up on the idea.

This illustration has great potential for a relief carving. The hair and beard would be a natural for the wood spirit carvers, but the lace collar would be wonderful if done in fine chip carving. I may try it!!

The story of Guy Fawkes is really fascinating, they say that he was the original "Guy", when you say that guy or some guy he was the first, kids would collect money for fireworks in "trick-or-treat" fashion with "penny for the guy"

I started a bust of Guy Fawkes Mask last March and it's been on the back burner with several others for a while now (it's really rough at this point) but it's next on the list.

Wow Bill! T^hat will be fantastic! V for Vendetta is one of my dearest favorite movies !!! Thanx for posting the link Claude-I have that political poster hanging in my house, my shop and its also my pc's desktop
He was a fascinating individual and I hope I can do my small bit justice.
The mask you posted is a sublime version of what I want to do. The wrinkles should be a great challenge and if done right, will be beautiful and I wont be able to keep my hands of them.
