Pedo: Yes, there's no such thing as "undo" in carving. In my corner of the world, the two major chainsaw carving competitions happen in Chetwynd,BC and Campbell River, BC. To me, the exciting events are the timed ones: 15 minutes, 30 minutes, etc, the results would fit nicely on the end of a log.

We lived in a gorgeous log home (3,600 sf) for 15 yrs (Northern BC Canada) and I never was able to convince my husband to let me carve some of the lovely large logs. Love the beaver - makes me wish we still had the house.

You have to get a carver who knows their stuff. I'd never dream of having the chainsaw skill to do that. Yeah, I have 4 power saws. Yeah, I have one with a dime tip. Yeah, I'll invite John Rogers to do the work. |
