Lynn, now that looks like my kind of paradise. Is there a lake on the property too?

We have a spring fed pond and a small creek. Does that count?

We had an original log cabin in colorado...it was built in 1862....but lots of upkeep to the logs! shrinkage, caulking etc. finally coated the whole outside with something called "Log Jam" an elastomeric compound with sand in it....worked great.....and stretched quite a bit before opening up.....now we are in the desert and see quite a few log cabins....wouldn't have one here....with the heat and the sun.....that would be constant maintenance imho.

idea, and a nice little carving. We have log home manufacturer's here and some of the log homes are beautiful. I would think lots of up-keep because of our dry climate. I love log homes they have such a warmth to them. My house is wood and stucco, pretty low mantaince.
Thanks for sharing,
Kathy

I Think The Beaver is just brilliant.I cannot remember the name of the famous English carpenter/cabinet maker, but he used to carve a mouse in a discreet place on all of his work.
