Default Wow! I'm glad that's done.

I had planned on going into our kid's 3rd grade and Kindergarten classrooms to talk about woodcarving. I had wanted to do somekind of quick carving to hand out to the kids. Well, I thought that Tom Hindes's 5-minute wizard from Issue 43 would be the best thing to do. First, I want to thank Tom for the inspiration, but I have to say (and you can ask my wife) it took me a lot longer than 5 minutes each, ha-ha. I didn't keep track on how long but we'll just say it took me all day yesterday just to paint and finish them. This afternoon I'm taking them to the school for a short talk on my hobby of woodcarving. I never did like to "repeat" a carving so I tried to make them a little different. I thought they would make nice refrigerator magnets so I just super glued a small magnet to the back. Wow! I'm glad that's done.

Oh, I guess there was one more picture. Plus, I always sign, number and date my carvings. The last one of these was my 102nd woodcarving overall since I started this hobby. (For these I did 35).

Awesome! Great detail in the faces, especially the eyes. You made a lot of kids happy!

That is really neat and well done. I find it fascinating how just the line of a moustache can change the whole demeanour of a face.

Dont you wish there were less kids in that class lol. Great job on the wizard. It does get tough to do the same carving over and over again did that a few years ago with santa ornaments.

Nice job! I'll bet they were a hit. I think it's great that each one is different then the others. It shows alot of devotion to your kids that you put in all that time instead of just passing one carving around for the kids to look at.
