| | Will Work For Food! Just prior to my last trip to the mountains I received a card from my dermatologist reminding me that it was time for my 6-month check up. Not wanting to change my plans I ignored the reminder and headed north. But God bless her soul she wasn't about to let me get away that easily and she hounded me via phone calls and letters during my entire trip until I finally had to break down and make an appointment which just happens to be this coming week. Thanks to my Scotish Irish heritage, fair skin, and tons of freckles she always finds something to burn or cut off, especially after years and years of repeated sun burns and sun poisonings. If it wasn't bad enough that I spent nearly four years in southeast Asia in the 60's, I've lived in Florida since the early 70's and have always been active in outside activities. But, regardless of how this sounds I am truly appreciative of her dedication and medical skills and as such this weekend decided to make her one of my bears to show it. What do you think? Good enough for a gift?
The bear is made of a 2" x 2" x 6" block of laminated empress wood, four-each layers 1/2' thick glued with Titebond II. It's finished with acrylics and a coat of water based matte poly.

| | Re: Will Work For Food! Tom.... I concur and I've racked my brain for over a week trying to think of something cute that would relate to dermatology and still make sense but just couldn't come up with anything. The problem is that I need to limit the amount of characters on the sign and that really limits what I can say. Anyone got a four or five word suggestion?

At the risk of sounding drole, I think your gift will be ,'Spot-On'. Ouch, that hurt just to type it, lol. |
