Default The Wood Chopper

Here is a figure I just finished carving today. I didn't finish the bottom of his chaps as they will be buried in snow. He's wearing my Carhartt coat. Hopefully, there will be a bucksaw and sawbuck involved. Once he's finished I hope there are lots of "sawbucks" involved!!

Any comments or suggestions are appreciated. Just be gentle!

Is this the piece that was inspired from your recent experience with the downed trees?
He doesn’t look too happy to be doing his chore.
Are you going to hang that ice sickle off his nose?

While the icycle idea is a good one it didn't work. There is just no way to get the effect I wanted. The problem of doing things like that is that the viewing public likes to touch and something as fragile as that would snap off at the first touch. Too bad. I am going to try and really create some deep snow. Plenty of that around at the moment!!

VERY nice Lynn! But! When I first looked at the carving there was something that I just couldn't put my finger on. Something just a liitle different. Then it dawned on me. It's you! Now I only met you once at Dayton, but lose the frown and I think it's you. Anyway, it sure is lookin good. Tom H

Great carving Lynn! I will probably think of this piece each time I have to go out to the wood pile to get wood for the woodstove. It's suppsed to be 8 degrees here on Monday. I sure am ready for a heat pump!!

Great work!
