Susan
What if you hollowed out the wood and used them as the sound tube and made them of different lengths? It should be a very pleasant sound.

Another original and great idea Susan. Very nice work. Thanks for sharing the pattern. I may try it on top of a hiking stick.

OK ... So it took a lot longer to find a place to hang him for the photos then it did to figure out how to string the chimes. I decided on a teal ceramic bead with a couple of small peacock feathers as the center piece.

I haven't sealed him yet as I didn't want to photograph shine.

Susan

(So when I had him strung my Michael says, "Take him down in the yard and find a good tree for him ... way, way down in the yard." )

Ash - I wasn't pickin' on ya, really! I was complimenting you on the fact that you and your carvings are so in demand now and I think that is fantastic. Why is it that we always make time for the Have-Tos but so seldom find time for the Want-Tos.

Greybeard ... As it happens I have a stand of bamboo that would be perfect sounding tubes for your idea. I might try them for the next one.

OK Susan, back to real work!

Susan

Wow!
I wish I could paint that fast, and well. Maybe someday.Sad You really did a good job on this one. And as far beating you to the article, it's all your's. When I borrow an idea or design I try to make it my on by changing it as much as possible.
