| | Weekly update Ron need advice! Hello everyone here are some pictures I had a friend take. Anybody comes to see me gets put to work. I textured the background with some texture stamps I have. Tried to do detail on girl and dog. What does everyone think. Is the girl and dog OK from touch they feel fine but I want a second opinion.
By the way if you are wondering why Katy didn't help me this week. She had some surgery done Thursday {female stuff} she got home this morning and is doing fine. But anyway let me know what you think.

| | Re: Weekly update Ron need advice! Ron they look good.
A bit of short hair lines on the dog , would make it stand out a bit more and the hair on the girl could use a bit of work , on texture , out side of that the clothing lines are good showing the movement of the girls dress and the dog is in excellent condition.
Only my opinion.

| | Re: Weekly update Ron need advice! That would be my opinion, too. A little work on the girl's hair and MAYBE define the front of the dogs ear just a bit. It seems to stop part way up the cheek.
Very nice work.

| | Re: Weekly update Ron need advice! Thanks guy's. I was wondering about the ear. The hair is going to be the hardest by touch but I will try.

| | Re: Weekly update Ron need advice! Ron: Pretty good effort for a sighted carver; from a blind person, it's outstanding! That textured background is great, also. Fold lines on the girl's clothing are well done.
Here is my suggestion:
1) Girl's face. Round her left jawbone a bit more, as well as her right side of her chin. - just the merest sliver.
2) Dog's back, between girl's right little finger and her left wrist: round this off a bit more.
3) Girl's right hand, little finger side of the palm: cut just a bit more away from the dog's back to make it slope just a tiny bit less sharp as it gets to her hand.
If this doesn't make sense, then please don't do anything to mess up your carving.

| | Re: Weekly update Ron need advice! I think its outstanding and "you are a better man than I Gunga Din!" as for the carving, I am not sure you need the hair textured etc, it all seems to work together. and didn't I read where blind folks will be using the sign by feel? Actually Ron...I think its done for you like any other carver........when you feel its done , and that was not a pun. |

| | Re: Weekly update Ron need advice! No advice from me my friend. I think you have done a fantastic job. If you like it, and you think it is done, then it is. Sometimes I think that one of my carvings needs something else and I do it, but don't like it after I added something.
Some great advice already given, but that is just their opinion.
I like what you have done and a fantastic pece it is.
Well done my friend. |
