Default Weekend Doings 9/9 - 9/10

Ok, so nothing happened in the carving world at my house except sanding the wood for the ornament exchange. Now I need to chop it up for carving.

BUT we did have a Gouge Chip Carving reception tonight and they annouced the Branson Expo results.

Mr. Warren Raucher was the judge and he annouced that Sean (me) got 1st in 3D piece (the box I posted last week) 2nd in 2D piece and 1st in Bookmark pair!!! I also took Best of Show!!! I was amazed!! Overall a good weekend.

Sean

Congrats to you Sean. Always a plus when you are new to receive such rewards. And to be judge by the best, Just icing on the cake eh?
I have always admire mr Raucher's stuff every time I have seen it at the Tulsa shows.

Well done Sean. Great news.

This week-end I did more work on the Eagle cane. Attached the handle to the shaft and began the painting/finishing process. (photos on another thread)

Thank you all for the kudos. I am proud and of all the things that "won" it for me would be the box that I want my daughter to cherish her whole life and pass on. That box is the primary reason I started Gouge Chip Carving.

And last night when my wife came home from her new job, she told me that the nurses and such she works with would buy my stuff. A whole new realm opening up... she actually showed them on the puter my gallery.... (working hard I see).
