Default Watcha Carvin'? Week of the 12th.

New week and a new start...OK, a day late.

Got my bass scaling completed, and have the fins glued in. Next is to work on the internal mouth structure....think I'll only do the tongue and teeth, and working the fin insertion points into the body so they look like a smooth fit. Then the eyes need placement and afixing them permanently. After, maybe next week, is the priming and painting.

Hope these pics show up OK

Al

My hat is off to you folks that do fish and birds. I just don't have the patience (or talent) to do a gazillion scales or feathers!!

Nice work!!

He's a beauty, AL.
But, please, if possible, next time let us see a photo of the inside of that mouth.
I just can't get over that.

Jax, I make my own scaling tips from brass rod, and thread them to fit a "hobby burner" type pen. Burned out two tips on this fish, but they had burned four fish earlier, so I guess it's time I make a few more tips. The heat gets to that brass after a while and it gets brittle.

Thanks, everyone.....when this isn't frustrating it's fun! Shortly I'll have to crank up the airbrush, which hasn't been used in over ttwo years.......aaaarrrgggghh. Whole new learning curve.
