Default Vietnam era Marine

This is the second of three pieces for a gentleman who served in Vietnam. His father's likeness was posted in "Caricature carving" sometime back as "Silver Star recipient." The final carving will be of the son who has served in Iraq.

I still have to place details on this carving, seal it, and paint it. Then the final will be posted in the finished form.

I have never liked the pictures my camera makes of the carvings. The carving just looks different than in the picture. I am going to have to build a light box in the very near future.

Joe

that the carving looks different, might more be because you took a closeup shot from a pretty small carving, so the camera is using a macro-function, and thus distorts a lot... try taking picture, by going farther away, and use tele-zoom to get the carving to fill the picture. this distorts much less... cute carving, btw :-)
