Default I've hit a wall

I need some help here. My Son saw Whittling Joe's GI and he wants me to make a Soldier for him. This how far I have gotten and I seem to be lost. So, I am asking for suggestions on where to go from here.

This is a piece of white pine 3/4" x 3/4" x 3".

Ya'lls help is greatly welcomed and appreciated!!!!

Thanks.

Suggest you take a look at Gene's tutorial... "Carving A Simple Small Figure From A Block Of Wood '' A Beginners Tutorial See if it helps!

I'd suggest using at least a 2 inch x 2 inch piece of wood, if you want any detail. The smaller pieces of wood such as 3/4 by 3/4 need some delicate touches and tools. I've done some that small, but I almost had to "scare" the chips off the wood instead of cutting them off, they were so small.
