I think that I finally have it roughed out, ready for the detailing and a lot of sanding.
I had the base all figured out but, somehow after the final cuts my ideas won't work so will have to drop back and re design.

Very interesting composition with the turtle inside the rough wood.
That sure makes carving the details more of a challenge. Wonderful and appealing sculpture. I will look forward to seeing more of your progress with this. Amazing what we get to see in progress on this board.

Thanks for the coments. This piece is made from Broad Leaf Maple, it has been one of the most challenging pieces that I have started. I hpe to have it completed in a couple of months.
