WhiteCree, ya gotta go into a trance to do these darn things.....I can hold it for about an hour and a half to two hours.....got about 3/4's done on the left side this AM, and then came to my senses....been working in the garden since, but it's time to take abreak there, too.
The eyes came in from Vandykes Taxidermy Supply this morning. I ordered a new style, slightly oval shaped, and one set of standard round eyes. I'll have to decide which one works best, now.

A good thing about VanDykes is they only charge "actual shipping cost" on small items, instead of these 6 to 10 buck shipping and handling costs that a lot of outfits charge. So. 87 cents to get 5 sets of eyes here!

I'll post another update when the scaling is done.

Tom, I'll try that white glue and sand......sounds like it might work out, too! Thanks for the tip.

Al

Good looking carving........are you going to finish it in acrylics, oils or natural?

Several months ago I finished a rainbow and habitat....brought it to the club for show&tell.... and was told I forgot the tongue!!!!

Jax.

Thanks,Jax, this one will be finished in acrylics.....I will do the tongue area, 'cuz that will show.....just don't know about a lot of the other internal mouth and gill structure. Probably going to skip that, but we'll see when I get to that point.
