Default Unmotivated to Paint

Here are a few things I have been working on. For some reason I have been unmotivated to paint recently. I also have 13 ornaments ready for the ornament exchange that need a coat of paint. I'm hoping to take care of all of these tomorrow. Just wanted to share! You may notice a few that I have tried to do.....I'm also working on Project III and I have carved my version of Mike Shipley's ozark caricature. I will post more pictures as I get them finished.

Well Blake,
They look pretty good the way they are, but you know they will get painted, and they'll look pretty awesome after ya do.
Nice to know someone else has to stare at unfinished projects before you work your way up to finishing them.

Nice ones Blake.
Now,
Knock it off and get to painting. You are good at it so what's the problem.
Clear your mind of work, and start painting, Most of all Enjoy it.

Now, er ya motivated?

Wish I would practice what I preach.
Yep, I am nopt a painter, and don't pertend to be. Maybe that is why I don't like Painting Carving pieces. I see others and my, what a fantastic job. But to me, Mine sucks. Oh well, maybe one day.

Hop to it Blake.

Thanks for the encouragement Ken and Thor. I find that it is easier to carve because I can do it a little at a time, but when it comes to painting, I like to paint a piece from start to finish. Anyone else have that problem. With work, moving, and taking care of a 16 month old, it's hard to find enough time in the day to sit down and just paint. I'm planning on setting aside a day to do nothing but paint. I will let you know how they turn out!

(round tuit) does that help? lol actually I used to sit there and fiddle and strum my fingers and wait til one area was dry enough to start another or else just try to hold it by an area that was dry and keep painting.......bah humbug! thats what makes it such a chore, now I try to have a few things to paint and paint one color on each of them and if I still feel like painting the first one will be dry, and if I don't feel like it, I will just leave them until I do, which won't be long, because a half painted carving will stir me to action faster than an unpainted one LOL

I cut out a small circle of wood, then painted "2 IT" in brihgt red letters. Now I can't get out of a job by claiming I'll do it whenever I get a 'round tuit'.

Painting can be a drag, but what can ya do? Mind you, you have a great excuse not to get it done. A baby not even 2 years old takes an incredible amount on attention. I'm surprised you even had time to carve, never mind time to paint.

Relax, don't force yourself. You'll find the time and inclination to paint soon enough.

Hi Ho,
Are you painting in oils or acrylics. If using acrylics we cant paint with out a hair dryer. We pick them up for a couple of bucks at yard sales. Sets the paint in seconds and your off to the next step. I couldn't paint witout one.
