Default Two Old Men

Hi everyone,

I carved the man with the hat yesterday, the other one I carved today. It was so warm and sunny, I decided I would carve him with a tank top and shorts. I used flat-plain carving and regular carving on the pieces, i enjoy doing the carvings and I know I have a long way to go. Gene using a larger piece of wood did help with geting his arms to show.

(p.s) I will not post anymore photos for a while.

Vic.

Vic.. you can post all the photos you want .. the main thing is your using the knife and learning ... Good job on the fellas Vic ... Just keep practing every chance you get and in no time .. your be turning out really great piece's ..
Vic.. I learned when first carving .. If you can get a hold of a carving video itself and watch guy's like Jack Price and Tom Wolfe and Harley Refsal .. You can learn so much so quickly in how they carve and then relate it to your style .. A picture is worth a thousand words ..
Good Job
Gene

Hey Vic, you did a great job especially capturing their expressions. Wish I could do that! ~ Joy

Vic - I enjoy your photos a lot !! The speed you're learning is super. I think the guy in the shorts and tank top is swell.

Gene
Your right i'm checking out the videos on how to do the flat plane.Because one min. it going good then i'm lost to how to make the next cut.I need more information and instruction.I like the way you make clean cut instead of the way i have to stab at it to get the same cut.I guess i just keep making the wood chip fly!!!

Vic... Don't stop posting photos on my account! I think that your work is great! Those guys must be in Florida if they've got shorts on...but put a coat on that one... it's turning chilly down here!

Hi Vic, by all means keep posting your carvings and keep up the good work. Are you planning on painting them? I think it would add even more character interest if you did.
