Default Two More For the Art Museum

After my last carving for our local Art Museum for Folk Art Day ..

They ask me to carve 2 more piece's for the coming Art Festival in July ..

They wanted both to be in the Flat plane style and about 6 inche's high ...

I usually dont do the big guy's .. but what the heck .. I started out that way ..

Here's the results of the piece's ..

This one is not quite finished yet ... The immigrant looking down will have a dog at his feet .. I'am almost through with him .. but here's the figure ..

I know flat plane is not everyone's cup of tea .. but I'am finding out that it appeal's to the art museum down here ..

Thanks for letting me share ...

Gene----you are amazing....just amazing. Your flat plane style is just terrific. I haven't seen anything you do that I don't fall in love with. Cuts are deep and the expressions and ideas are always wonderful. Just finished a cowboy I've been working on, so now I will have a little time to try my first real "flat plane"....if I can. I just love the style....especially in the lil' fellers. I'm sure these two guys will go over big in the Art Museum! Bonnie

Gene, you did a wonderful job. "Night on the Town" is really neat. I love all the detail in him (his little tie is so cute!) The museum is gonna love these two pieces!
