Beautiful job Thor, I'm sure he'll love it. Nice gesture too.

Chuck,
I once carved almost 40 feet of 6" wide pine for trim in my living room. It took about 2 years to complete along with other things, but was really worth it. My family made me remove it all when we sold the house, and now it's all over the place in my new house.

Just start one little short piece, and install it. You'll just have to keep going after you sit there looking at it.

Mark is a true inspiration to me as well. I'm still hoping to get up to his studio some day and see him work in person. I imagine that I would learn more in an 8 hour day there than I could teach myself in 20 years.

I hope you'll do pictures when you carve your trim!
Thor

Forrest, one of these days, I would love to trade with you for one of your carvings! I am so envious of your painting talents.
Thanks for the comments. Your words are appreciated.

Dave, I'm enjoying my house tremendously. I'm working on a clothes line installation this week. I'm going to put wooden crows on top of the 3 t shaped supports for interest, but at the same time, try to keep my peacocks off of my laundry. They, and their indiscriminate pooping are not welcome there.

Corey, Dan, and Bob thanks for the comments. It was a fun carving to do, and really didn't take long.

Thor

Beautiful carving Thor. I love the finish and the background really makes the tree pop!

Came out nice Thor, the stippling really makes the carving standout too!
