Default Toothpick holder

Well I just finished this little barrel for holding toothpicks, the painting was the funnest part. I used washes of acrylic to give grain and texture to the barrel and floor. I was going for a "general store" pickle barrel look, with a parcel waiting pickup. Hope you like

Nice job, Gilly! The washes gave the barrel a rustic weathered look that is very realistic. By the way, what are the dimensions on the piece?

Just to give an idea, those are regular round toothpicks in the barrel, the parcel is 1/2" x 5/8 ", the base is 4" wide X 3" deep and the barrel is about 2 3/4 " tall. The parcel twine is a double strand of brown thread. Thanks for looking.

Nice work Gilly, you got the barrel just right. The parcel looks great, makes us wonder what's inside!

Great job.

Now that's a neat idea, and well carved and finished! Looks like I was a mite late with my suggestion, above......oh, well!

I really like how you set it into a scene, with detailed flooring and a nice package too. Excellent work.
