Default tis the Season of the Witch...

...Well almost! Close enough for me! I love anything Witch. This was a new gift for a friend - we did a swap. It's my first Witch hair Pin. I thought I would make a bunch of these little gals as practice for when I carve my bigger doll faces.
Her name is Wanda WorryWart
She is Cherry and her hat is a sepperate carved piece of closet rod ...lol...I think it is fir. Nice and lightweight. I love how she pokes out of my hair! I forgot to photo it...lame...but she also has a broom. It is a carved Cherry handle and broom straw for the broom. All tied up like a miniature broom. Very cute. I like to just lay them about the place. Ok1 Please leave me some pointers. I am so no good at eyes! or mouths...I like my noses...

Hi Keoma,

You did a very nice job on Wanda, she's very believable.

Do you have any eye tutorials? I try to keep the old magazines that have facial features tutorials. I just found a really good one in issue #20 (I think) of WCI by Jeff Phares. Of course his eyes are more for outdoorsmen and Indians, but I've seen some for caricatures somewhere.

Keoma, your little witch is really cute! She's real folksie. You have your own style and I wouldn't change it if I were you. Love the little witch. Your cat on your shoulder adds a special touch to the picture too.....sharon

Thank you all very much. I would like to be better at eyes, like I said, I like carving the noses, so I focus on them. (((Hmmm...was that almost a pun of sorts?!)))
Sharon, you made me think. While I would like to be better, maybe my eyes will not be the focal of the face...but the nose instead? Making Lemonade I guess.
Thanx again for the feedback, I hope the gal likes it.
