Default Tiny People

While working on a new minature scene ... My Sister just bought her a new miniature shadow box and ask me to carve her some tiny guys to go in to it .. So here they are not painted yet .. They are carved in the flat plane style and stand 2 1/2 and 2 inches tall .. Boy - that 2 incher sure get's you close to the fingers .. But when you get below 2 inches .. detail is hard to show ..
These are fun guy's to carve and take very little time ...
Forgive my photography .. Ia'm still learning that ..
Thanks for letting me show ..
Gene

Once again, great job on the little guys Gene! I hope to be able to carve a few of those for my collection in the near future. I sure like their facial expressions! Great work!

Looks great Gene. You achieved pretty good detail in the limited wood you have there.

Pat .. Here's a closeup of the faces .. The eye is no big deal as you can see ..Basically on these extra small fella's .. You cant get to much detail on the eye's .. So as Jack Price teaches in his compact characters .. You simply carve a triangle shaped eye .. but I sort of slant mine to give it a different effect ..
Thanks Gene

Great lil' fellas you have there, Gene! Loved the whole concept. I just finished one myself (not in flat plane) and have started another 2 incher, only this time, I used a dowel with a screw at the end...inserted it in the feet and am finding it much easier on the fingers! I would love to learn the flat plane style, though. Is there a preferred book on this? Bonnie

Boy, those are great. One of these days I'm going to get brave enough to try that.
