Default Tiny Monkeys Fist

The M onkeys Fist I carved for the first Friendship Staff was noticed by a guy in Germany, who contacted me to see if I could carve him a small one as a pendant.

When he said small, 2 cm/ 3/4", he means small. But.....compared to some of my ship board carvings, it's huge! Size is all relative. The wood is Basswood, and just a practice one before I carve the actual pendant.

Deceided to carve it in the living room, but that was a mistake, the lighting is poor for detail work. Back to the basement, or wait for daylight tomorrow.

Bob

great job, I have tied quite a few real ones in my time. My dogs favorite toy is a monkey fst i tied for him the day we got him, its 6 years old and he still has it. not bad for a bulldog.

Nice job Bob I know that is a large carving for you. Most of the stuff you work on is much smaller than that. I would give it a try but do you think my chainsaw with a dime tip could do that?

Yep, That be a nice knot Bob.
Colin, that would be a great one for on top aof a log, say two foot high or maybe a little higher. That would be so KEWEL.

Wow! So tiny! So exquisite! and very realistic! I confess I did not know what a monkey's fist was apart from the obvious, so I have learned something on this day....nice one

Great Job Bob, Looks like you tied it with ragrope. I saw a couple of beautiful handmade ships today in a pawnshop, they were very well done with lots of detail, He wanted $125 each.. I thought that was a steal. I asked him if I could take a picture so I was going to take my camera with me tomorrow. If I get some I will post them for you to look at. Great Job again,

Darren

Nice knot, Bob!

Now, for a challenge: how about the knot called the English Wall Knot, or sometimes Double Diamond on a Bight?

If you aren't familiar with it, I can send instructions

Claude
