That piece of wood was given to me by a friend of my son's, he was using it for a door stop in his barn.

Excellent carving Bill ,like all your pieces you really make them come alive. I really like this one thou, another Best of Show carving thats for sure. Looking forward to be seeing you at the local shows in CO. this year, and welcome to the W.C.I. forum.

Wonderful carving really nice flow to that carving. I have never carved burl did you carve it with power or chisels?

I must say that is one fine piece of carving. If you don't have a winner, then the judges are somk'n some wacky weed. Come to think of it, a lot of judges have and do.
