Default I think I am getting close!!

Her is another look at the Wolf that I have been working on. While I couldn't sleep these last few nights I went out and carved. Feels like it's in pretty good shape other than some sanding. What do you all think. Let me know if I need more detail it's hard to see in the picture at least thats what Katy said. I carved in bark on the trees and tried to make the branches feel like pines.

Ron ,

A bit hard to tell, but the center body looks like it could be rounded a bit more, it looks to be a bit flat. I like the texturing. Are you going to texture the wolf ?

Looks like it is comming along well. Just looks like his mid section is a bit blocky. But that may well be the photo .

Well done Mate.

Garry

AshI did carve hair on the body of the wolf along with bark on the trees and tried to make it feel like pine tree branches. I will check out the body on the wolf he may have just had a big meal also. I will check it out Thanks for the sugestions that's why I posted so somebody that can see can help me out.

Ron it looks great, but as ash said, maybe a bit off behind the front legs to in front of the back legs, the chest and belly area, but a little off the front to a bit more off the back in front of the legs...if that makes any sense..also don't carve all the way up maybe a 1/4th.....so that where the bottom of the ribs are, they would stay as they are? But in reality, if you left it as it is, its amazing you can do that by feel! God bless Ron and Merry Christmas!

That's quite a carving Ron. I like the back drop with the moon and clouds. It gives the carving a kind of spooky or enchanting kind of look.

Ron, that is as Wade said incredible! Forget what those picky guys said , if he is a winter wolf the midsection is fine. You know that animals are my thing and I say he is great. Are you finishing it natural or going to paint it? Excellent job.

Merry Christmas.
