Default Tasting spoon

This is my current WIP. Needs a little more sanding, some stain. I hope to finish it this weekend.

Thats a beauty! Are you going to use it? I am asking cause you said you were going to stain it. I always use olive oil. What do you use? Sorry to souond nosey, I always wondered about sealers... Fantastic spoon. I love the shape!

Well, I wasn't going to use it, maybe give it to someone.

I was just going to stain it a natural color, but they might want to use it and that probably wouldn't be a good idea. Thanks for telling me about the olive oil. How does basswood do with olive oil?

Thanks, Corey!

This is my second carving project. The boot in your avatar was my first.

Beautiful shape.... We've had some previous threads on spoons and sealers. You might want to do a quick search as there was a lot of good info in them.

Its such a smooth looking spoon, plus I like the double bowls, the smaller one at the end of the handle and the larger bowl, would work really good to just taste something with! I like the design you created with this spoon!Very nice carving on your behalf! You are doing great seeing this is only your 2th carving! Keep them coming! Forrest
