Default Stylized Dolphin

My Mom asked for a carving for her birthday and she had liked a stylized bird I had done out of butternut, so I thought I would do something along those lines. I decided to do a dolphin and thought I would give maple a try. Lets just say that I won't be using maple for a while again, I ended having to my dremel to rough it out. I really didn't realize how hard the maple was going to be... She was happy with the final results and that's all that really mattered. Thanks for looking

Eric

They should call it stylish carving in your case Eric. Very nice, and love the finish you gave that warm wood. Love it, Joe.

Very very nice. How much big it is? What kind of finish did you use?

Eric, it turned out very nice! There's nothing wrong with using power tools. Looks like maple holds detail real well.
