Default stylized cat

just finished this stylized power carving. Our cat died a couple weeks ago at only 3 years old. My wife took it pretty hard. I did this out of osage orange as a little tribute. Only about 3" long. The most amazing thing is that after about 5 grits of sandpaper, it only needed buffing to bring out this luster. Although it's a bad quality picture, you can still see the gloss. No finish!

Thanks for looking!

Mark

Hi Mark,

Really nice job on the cat and, you're right about the shine.

Sorry about your cat. We're really attached to them, too.

thanks all, for your kind words on my carving and our lost little friend. He had a white splash on his face, chest and belly. I'm debating doing something to add that in, but really like how it's looking now, and don't want to wreck it. Any suggestions?

Mark

Looks great, I think the wood grain adds to the carving and would not paint over it.

Great carving! It's a nice tribute. I lost one of my kitties(Teddy) a few months ago, he was almost 16years. They sure impact our lives in a special way. That was a sweet thing to do for your wife.
