Default Sticks for Mushrooms

Starting next week folks around me will begin the search for Morrel mushrooms. Since most of my buddies have what may be called a beer belly (some call it a carving platform) it's hard for them to keep leaning over to find these mushrooms. So I started making some walking staffs that they can use to poke around in the leaf matter and search for the Morrel. The staffs are made from Ash hoe handle seconds (25 cents each), and are spoke shaved down to a smaller size. Tom H

Nice looking "poker's" that you have there! I love hunting those morrel's too.

This look's like something that'd come in handy back in the day's when I spent a heck of a lot of my time out in woods looking for wild ginseng. I dug just over a thousand dollar's worth one season back in the '70's and that was (still is) a LOT of money for back then!

Nice looking sticks look like they are good for poking around the weeds. I just love morels but never seem to find a lot of them.
