Default Staff carving

I just made a album "Krum" to share with you of a staff I did as a commission. It's in the Members Album's. The staff was over 12 years old and had an old finish on it. I decided to not redo the finish but enhance the staff by using the wood to help me along. The man after 5 years of wanting it carve now has his staff back but with a more interesting one for him to take his walks with. Thanks for looking!

A Story Cane ... Krum it's beautiful! I love story canes but have never had a chance to create one. The white in the incised areas really brings outs the carvings.

Cathy,
The cane is very imaginative. It looks like lots of time went into it very successfully.
I love visiting your web pages! The variety of "houses" you carve are so inspiring, and the mantels are beautiful.

Good to see your work.

Thanks for the nice compliments. This was a bit nerve wracking as I was SO worried I was going to wreck something so precious to someone! Talk about PRESSURE! But I "got over it" and put those scary words out of my mine when I started drawing the pattern out. I then emailed it for approval. Of course I had to let him know my drawings aren't the best but it helps guide my mind along the way! Thanks again!

Very nice carving Krum. Enhancing someone elses work would be a challenge, and meeting the expectations of the person who assigned you to the task. Well done.

You miss understood me I think. The staff only had a stain and finish on it 12 years ago. I didn't enhance anyone's elses work. I would never redo someones work. I may add to it but never destroy it. Thanks for looking and the comment on my "work".
