Finally decieded to relief carve the image that I use for my logo/avatar. Carved in Butternut with some burning for detail, I'm quite happy with the results. Now this size is more to my liking! Smile Bob

Bob... Beautiful job! Since your a sailing man have you read David Poyer's triology about life aboard a Navy sloop during the Civil War. Great series and very technical. I had to go out and find me a nautical dictionary. No problem with the ordinary like... "all hands forward lay aft and all hands aft lay forward and all hands amidships stand by to direct traffic"... but that "spice the main brace" stuff was a little above my pay grade!

Hello Bob, Long time no chat. You are still carving out master pieces, and this one definitely ranks with one of your best. You'll need to get down to Halifax and get inspired by the tall ships sailing in the harbour. Our kayak club plans to go down and paddle there Sunday...I wish I could join them as you get a very good view from the water and McNabs Island. Patrick |
