| | Spring is in the air. and inspires new subject HI all,
This carving is not at all my usual subject matter, but it will be fun.
It's not done yet, and it's in white pine about 24" across and will be the front of a box. I intend on painting it with really fun colors.
I think I have "escape" on my mind.

I love it! It'd be ok to quit right here and take a vacation! It's great just like it is! Totally original, but that's you! Made me grin!

| | Re: Spring is in the air. and inspires new subject I've been painting this carving for just a silly perspective on whimsy.
Now, I have to decide whether I really want to build it into a box or just consider it framed and done after I put the varnish on it. The paint still needs a little work. I've used goauche except for acrylic paint for the silver parts.
I'll spray a varnish on it to seal it.
Comments are welcome, and I am aware of the green not really looking good yet.
Thanks,
Thor |

Thor | Very, very cool, Thor. Except for the color scheme, the little trailer reminds me of the little Scamp I just bought two weeks ago. Had to go up to that ice box called Minnesota to pick it up but it was worth it.
Whether you put it in a box or frame it, just keep it someplace where you can see it a lot, especially in the dead of winter...... |

| | Re: Spring is in the air. and inspires new subject Thanks Ashby, this one was purely for the joy of it.
Wolf, I went with my brother to pick up a Boler (also small fiberglass trailer) just a couple of weeks ago. It is only 13 feet long, and as cute as a Scamp. I really like vintage and small campers, as my husband and I have renovated several.
This one, with it's round window in the door is a fictional camper as is the car, but it is sort of fashioned after a mid-60's Scotty.
I know you will enjoy your Scamp. They are great campers.
We now have a 64 Barth that's about 16 feet long that we will renovate, and a 1971 23 foot airstream that we will renovate as well.
Thanks for your comments.
