 Re: Spoon Rest Very nicely done. Meipo! You are right, that does not look like basswood. Grain-wise it looks like it could be butternut, but seems a bit light colored for that. And the few pieces of butternut I've carved have not been hard. Looks more like ash to me, but that's just a guess.....hard to tell from a photo. Nope, just looked again and it ain't ash.
