| | Spitfire Woodburning - WIP Hi Everyone,
I decided to try doing a burning of a Spitfire, once I have done this one and worked out the quirks, I plan on doing a larger one for my brother on his birthday. |

| | Re: Spitfire Woodburning - WIP Thanks Ash & Bob,
Once it's completed I'll post it in the Purography section where it belongs.
I think I'n going to let this one stand as a straight burning Bob. Right now I'm creating a dark halo from the edges of the wood coming up towards the plane itself and leaving white inbetween. I think this will make the burning itself "pop" more.
Thank you both for your kind comments.

| | Re: Spitfire Woodburning - WIP Oh wow, my favourite WW2 fighter! Great work, and I, too, think it will look just great as a straight burning. Very old-timey look. |

| | Re: Spitfire Woodburning - WIP Wow! Thank you for your encouragement. I'm really enjoying doing this one because it is so outside what I normally do. I've decided that when I do the final rendition I'll have the wood oversized to the picture as I want to burn an outer layer that will act like a mat, leave a sliver of clear and then the "halo" that I'm doing on this one, so that when I frame it, it'll look complete. This one will be used as a sample for my classes. I should have this one done by the weekend.
BTW, I can't take credit for the drawing. I found a picture, traced it and then burned it. I'm a terrible drawer type of gal. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
