Default Some Relief!

Hi All, Have been working on this in my spare time & when the weather is too bad for travelling to London for the Donohue tree! I carved the CCH Crusader about 2 1/2 years ago & returned late this Fall to carve the remainder of the trunk only to find the heart of the trunk has rotted. This resulted in me doing an off site carving with a huge Maple log I had kicking around the back yard! The Crusader was removed by a boom truck & loaded on my trailier & is now in my studio awaitng a touch up & I am seeing the trunk coming to an end also! This is the part that seems to take forever though is to remove all the fuzzies & achieve a nice smooth finsih before the first coats of epoxy. Please visit my site for the complete step by step pics also.

That's quite a project. The smoothness you have in the wood really enhances the reliefs. I expect the finish will make it look that much more amazing.

Hi Robbin,

All very nice carvings. I agree the smoothing, sanding and defuzzing can be endless.
