Default Some new stuff

Well after a wee bit break, and after hacking my finger damn nearly off and recooping, I have gotten to some new stuff. Angry dog , why is he so angry, cus in a few days he will have a pesky butter fly flying around his nose. The bird I actually did before hacking my finger up. My first try at an animal piece. It took just about every tool I had, a collection of knives a few gouges and finally my dremel. And my favorite piece so far, OLD ROUGH CUT, my new detail carving knife. I took the idea from gene but ran a little further with it. I made the blade from a used jigsaw blade i had laying around and during this project I learned a little about sharpening a knife. Its crazy sharp and works like a dream, fact I did carve some of Angry Dog with it but I hesitate to use it more until I get some stain on it to protect it. I will probably be making more knives, I did that one while my finger was on the mend

Nice carvings ya got there! I especially like the little bird - very nice indeed! Good to hear that you're 'back at it' and healed from your injuries...cuts are no fun, no fun at all!!! Hope you've got a good carving glove and thumb/finger protectors now...I wouldn't carve without them... Good to have you back to the 'carving world' and keep the chips flyin!

Love the angry dog. Great little carvings all, well done. Sorry to hear about your injury. I am hoping to pick up a filleting glove soon. I think chain mesh is the only type of glove I should opt for given my reckless style. LOL Joe.
