woods are various kinds, black walnut,walnut, paducka,Mahogany,basswood

Ken. Great lookin footgear. Have you ever garved a shoe or a boot for a 6 inch doll? They would have to be carved directly on the leg and foot. Again, good job I like. Tom H

Ken , How in the world do you hold on to those little boots to carve them I would be cutting my fingers off.

Jim, Yep, Cutting fingers happens,,,,,,,, a lot.
But they are fun and you can't get in a hurry or it is deeper cut fingers.
Takes just about as long to carve minatures as it does bigger of original size. Carved apair of boots years ago for an cowboy uncle that were regular size and it was faster than the minatures. What I did was to cut out a walnut bottoms and Basswood tops and dowelled and glued them togethers then carved them. That was years and years ago and did not take picture of my carvings then.

Tom,a 6" doll eh? Probably could but need magnafied glasses for sure.

Oh my gosh, I'd fry my eyes attempting something that small. I'd need loops and a lot more experience. I love them!
