After seeing Mark's latest carving of a Santa tree ornament, I had to give old Santa another try. I started using his carving as a reference, and as usual I went my own way. The style of the hat may be close...and that's about it!
This small character stands around 10 inches high and is made of birch wood. I did give him a bit of a grin...as my carvings are typically grumpy or unhappy looking. It should fit on a mantle nicely.

Good work Patrick. Your happy, jolly Santa expressions are getting there, but I think most kids would hesitate to be climbing up on his knee at the mall!!! LOL Great carving, love the hat!
