Default small Mt. man bust

This is the first carving I have finished this new year, he is 4-1/2"tall x 2-1/4"wide. Material is Butternutt.
Thanks for looking and commenting!

I haven't seen a carving from you for a while Gary as you were pumping them out pretty regular before the New Year. That butternut has a neat grain, a wood I have never carved yet. The wood adds to the rustic look of the Mnt Man. It looks like you did a lot of work texturing the hat. Overall, a very nice carving.

Very nice Gary! I love the mystique of Mountain Men and they are really fun to carve. New Year.

Nice one Gary, which do you like best to work with Butternut or Basswood?

Thank you for all your kind comments! I carved so much leading up to Christmas that i kind of got burned out, but I'm better now, hehe.
Kathy, I like Butternutt a lot better! I am used to carving harder woods (driftwood and such) and I don't like basswood so much anymore.
Thanks again!
