Ships deck ...WIP

Well folks, for those interested, an update on progress of the Marco Polo clipper ship.

Deck detail was the chore this week, began forward by installing catheads (those are the two projections on each side of the bow that are used to handle the anchors) then six bollards (posts with brackets to lash/secure things to) two to port and two to starboard to cat (lashed and tied down) the anchors to when secured for sea. The inboard bollard at the end of the catheads are to secure the anchor fish tackle (the block and tackle assembly that hook onto the anchor to bring it into position for securing at sea). Also, the capstan has been made and positioned in the center of the forecastle. (It raises the anchor from the sea bed). You can also see the ladders that were assembled and are positioned for the crew to climb onto the forecastle from the main deck and in the last photo, the ladders from the main deck to the quarterdeck, next to the cabin.

For scale.....as per Susan's suggestion.....I have placed a tooth pick (regular household flat tooth pick) for scale comparisom leaning against the forecastle between the port and starboard ladders.

Beautiful! Any idea on the hours into the ship at this point? I'd enjoy a video watching it come together, Edited to a few hours of course! I really enjoy seeing the progress!

The toothpick really puts it in a perspective that I couldn't have imagined.
I suppose the process is more important than completion with a project like this. I'm very much enjoying seeing the progression of work.

But seriously, Bob...my head hurts thinking about the amount of detail work you do! I'm not only impressed, but jealous that you have that kind of patience...I flirt from one project to another without really finishing any...
