| | selfportrait 2008 i was thinking it would be fun doing again a selfportrait ... so here is, and this time i did finish completely different for how i ever did, following somewhat freds description to base my expermenting on (thanks fred, for inspiration !). it was fun, and i am pretty happy this time with how it turned out...
the side views reveal it is carved as high relief, rather than carving in the round and cut off, it is meant to view only from front but i thought you might like see these views too... the carving is 23cm high, thats about 9 inches, the carved depth is almost 2 inches, and i put a larger version of pic in gallery too for closer view... i hope you enjoy |

| | Re: selfportrait 2008 Good carving Doris. Like the hair and relay like the medieval armor. To me the carving shows you as a strong righteous person.

| | Re: selfportrait 2008 Nice work Doris! I really enjoy seeing your work and this is an outstanding example. I have tried to do faces in caricature that resemble someone and , for me, that is a difficult task. This one is probably my favorite, until the next one ;O)).
