Default Second Slowpoke

Here is my second western little guy, that I am calling SlowPokes. I carved him yesterday, took around four hours, painted him with acrylic wash today. He is carved out of a 1x1x3 inch basswood block.

I am not real happy with his lower lip, either the color or the shape..need to work on that. I have tried all kinds of mixtures of acrylic from Stetson, Shippley, LeClair, and others for lips, still not happy.
I love little guys, planning the one I am going to carve tomorrow, think I will keep doing SlowPokes until I iron out all the kinks.

have a great day eveyday all, and thanks for your support.

Nice carving! I use a bit of well-watered-down Burnt Sienna for the "rosy cheeks" and nose, and just use a bit less water for the lips.

Nice looking little guy. Great paint job, I really like the way you painted the shirt pattern and hat accents. Keep 'em coming.

He might be a slowmover, but you sure aint! You are very quick when it comes to churning out great little slowpokes. Good job. Joe.
