Default Scrubs

This weekend I started painting the box full of projects that I've carved over the past two months. This one is a novelty Christmas gift for my daughter who works as a pharmacy technician in a private laboratory. She works in a clean room preparing oncology cocktails, hence the scrubs!

The figure has been carved from 1/2" and 3/4" empress wood laminated together with Titebond to form a 2-3/4" block. Since I don't have a band saw I rough it out as described in a recent post using my miter saw and taking the excess out in chunks with a chisel. The height is 7-1/2".

The carving is finished with acrylic paint and top coated with Delta Ceramcoat Satin Varnish.
