Default Santa Ornament

Went to a carve meet in Huntsvillelast night, started a Santa off a triangular piece of Bass. Anyway here he is.

Nice work on the ornament! That's how I carve mine, from a triangular piece.
Eyes look great, along with the rest of the piece. Like the paint job. Good work!

Okay, now please tell me how you carve such great eyes in such a small face. I am working with a triangle that is 1.5 inches by 5 and I am struggling trying to carve in that tiny space. What tools did you use? I don't expect to be as good as you are....but any tips you can pass on will be greatly appreciated.
