| | Santa emerging from the wood.... This is just a block of wood I started working on the other day and the face is emerging. He is going to be another hooded santa, short and fat. Beyond that, I don't know yet. Will work it out as we go. I have started to rough out where the shoulders and arms will go. |

| | Re: Santa emerging from the wood.... Looks like a good start Susieq. I have been working on a couple Santas myself. A short stubby one and a tall skinny one. Just in the Santa mood I guess. Keep us posted on your progress! |

| | Re: Santa emerging from the wood.... Q,
This is REALLY good! I can't imagine carving something just from my head like this. I always have to draw a picture first. Even though many take on totally different looks from my actual drawing, at least I've got something to follow. You're lucky to be able to carve as you go. I'm too much of a visual person and need to see it first. That's quite a gift you have! |

| | Re: Santa emerging from the wood.... Thank you for the kind words, especially since there isn't much to look at yet. Jillsy, half of the fun is not knowing for sure what will happen. I have lots of "happy accidents" and once in a while, a not so happy one. but mostly it turns out good. Love surprises.....

| | Re: Santa emerging from the wood.... If the rest of the Santa matches what you've done so far; it will be a really good one. Tom H |

| | Re: Santa emerging from the wood.... Love that turned up nose. I am astounded that you can just start with a block. I don't have that kind of confidence. Keep the pictures coming. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
