Well, I finally got some time to sit down and paint this guy after all the company left. Then he sat around painted but without names on the list until the client emailed me the names she wanted on it. He is finally finished and I sent out pictures of him to the client tonight. One name appeared twice on the list. I am pretty sure there must be two people in her life by that name.

Here is a close up of the bell strap and the gingerbread man....
The piece is 9 inches tall.

Thanks guys,
He turned out pretty well, but I see little things in the finishing part of it that I wish I had done better. It's rare that I am ever perfectly pleased with a piece..... Someone was asking in another post, how we motivate ourselves. My motivation is to finally be satisfied with something I have done. Some how I don't think that will ever happen. On to the next one!

Q,

When I see such beautiful pieces like this, it literally brings tears to my eyes! I don't know why, just call me a sentimental girl!

It's so amazing to see how a simple piece of wood can be brought to life from someone's ideas and hands.

Thank you Jillsy,
I am very flattered by compliments from other carvers. Those mean more to me than any others....

I had emailed the pictures to the client before we left for Tennessee. She responded today and seems really happy with the pictures so he is going to a new home as soon as I get back home

Great work! I'm interested in how you finished the beard! Can you give us some information on how you got such detail?

Very nice!
Blake
