Default It's Done!!!!!!

Finally, I have finished the carving that I mentioned earlier (wedding gift for my son's best friend). I still don't care for it but, I am not as miserable with it as I was when I was carving it.

My buddy Jim McGhee suggested the texturing for the background and showed me on practise boards how to do it with his special punches. This improved the whole feeling of the project.

Now, all I have to do it burn in their names and wedding date on the back and can get onto something I can get my teeth into.

Deborha, This fine carved wedding plate proves that we are wired differently. I can tell that you must have all the patience in the world, as well as the desire to be very precise. A wonderful gift that will be a prized possession. Very fine indeed. Tom H

The symbols in the centre are double happiness in Chinese, this is usually used for weddings and the outside is a celtic symbol I found on the web on a wedding ring.

Yes, it was very tedious and tiresome for me to do this but, as it is for a kid (40) that I have known since he was 10 it was worth it, I guess.

Thanks for the comments.

Hi Deborah, your plate turned out really nice, what a great gift for your son's best friend. We all have those carvings that set us to task, but you kept working on it and finished it. Good for you!
