Default ruby throated hummingbird

couldnt find a pattern I liked, so after serveral trys made my own with measurments from reference materials. started with a piece of "white pine" that I cut in NC. sawed the rough out with a hand saw and small saw as shown. the result as shown, and this is as far as I got last night. will also "try" carving the flowers which will show at a later date. hopefully this will come out looking ok!! thanks everyoneMotorcycle

Looks like a great start to me, errol.

In one of the pictures, it looks like you've got the pith of the wood running through the bird's head. You probably know more than I do about all this, but isn't that something you have to be careful of?

I was doing something from the winter 1998 issue of WCI and they have a hummingbird in there.
