Default Quick Cane

An old frind of Karen and mine stopped by the other day and had forgottenher cane, so I got one going really quickly. Had a nice blank in the shop, but not much time, so simply carved a flat spot, then burned her nick-name and an ivy vine climbing up the shaft. A little water color, stain, varnish and wax, and she has a new cane to return home with. Here's some pics.

Al that is a nice blank and a wonderful job you did on it. I am sure she is very pleased and will treasure it always. What do you want to bet that it ends up being her walking stick from now on.

Thanks, guys, I really apreciate those positive comments. Wish I would have had some time to do a little relief work on this cane, too, but time is a hard taskmaster!

Al,
I'm sure she was absolutely thrilled! Nice gift, nice job. You can always offer to do more on it later if you want to, but I imagine she'll keep it in a special place where everyone can see it when she's not using it, and she'll probably use it far more than her old one.

I like the color you got from the watercolor. I may try that. Oils take so long to dry. I like the design and how it really compliments the stick that you started with. What a great gift!
