Default Quick and dirty hound dog!

A buddy gave me the southern basswood roughout for this hound. The wood was very dry and gnarly and I had to super glue some splits around the head and paws. I've had the roughout for a couple of years and only decided on knocking it out real fast this weekend end after learning that my youngest grand daughter is home sick and needed a little cheer-me-up!

It's 2" x 6" x 6" and finished with an acrylic wash and a W.B. satin varnish finish. It didn't turn out too bad. Thank God for paint!

Hey there buddy, you don't need a tutorial on how to make a hound dawg, he's a little beauty, and here's me feelin all sorry for ya cause ya couldn't see Genes tutorial. Heck I tried to carve a little dawg and all I had when I was finished is what a little dog leaves behind, oh well, back to the drawing board. Great little carving the Bud.

Eddie,

Nice job on your hound dog. I have been sick for 3 days now and I know it certainly cheered me up some.

Thanks for sharing it with us.
