| | progress on "Maiden" I have promised myself I will finish the first of a series of 3 this month. This one is called "Maiden". The next 2 will be Mother and Crone.
It is basswood, 1" X 12" X 36" and will be cut out at the top like an arch.
I've shown it to you before, but I'm finally working on it again.

| | Re: progress on "Maiden" Nancy, thanks, and you aren't anywhere near the "crone" image I'm carving....she will have "death" standing next to her in robes and look very worn. A lot of symbolism will go into the final carving as well.
Bernie, thanks, and I'm actually a girl...
Patrick, if I could give my carvings the soul yours have in their eyes, I'd be satisfied. Still working on it.
Lots of work to do on it yet.

| | Re: progress on "Maiden" Thor,
Nice work!!! I can't wait to see the progression. When I got home from work last night, I had to show my wife your work to date! She loves it as well!!!
I also had to laugh because I still find myself imaging you using a giant sledge hammer (that you occasionally throw off into the distance before it returns to you) to carve with!
